Art Studies

I started coloring in Spring 2025 to help me reduce "scanziety" while waiting for results of biopsies and scans for cancer. I have three primary cancers, one of which is not curable, so I have a lot of testing done on a routine basis. In between treatments, in October 2026, I decided to take an art class to see if it could help me get better at coloring and therefore enjoy it more. Something clicked during that class, led by one of the best instructors in the Pacific Northwest, so I am now studying art with the same committment that I give to my profession.

Someone said, "It's interesting you had to lose so many body parts to become whole."

We created this raven and mouse in colored pencil and ink with watercolor background.

Subsequent works are shown below. (Click on any image to enlarge it.)
